Reunions and alumni associations

Small reunions happen regularly amongst TBA alumni. However, we are delighted to learn that some countries have taken this further by meeting up and setting up in-country TBA alumni associations. The formations aim at stimulating co-operation and exchange of information between the alumni and in promoting biodiversity conservation and sustainable natural resource management in the regions through collaborative research activities.

In 2005, the first alumni group was formed in Cameroon. Later the Nigeria group was formed in 2006 followed by four other networks formed in Benin, Madagascar, Kenya and Rwanda in 2007. The Ugandan and Ethiopian alumni groups which formed in 2008 were among the latest of the formations. Other established networks include Ghana and Sudan. We encourage alumni to join these in-country networks or establish similar groups and will give advice to anyone wishing to do so. Visit the alumni groups page for more information on TBA alumni associations.
