Small reunions happen regularly amongst TBA alumni. However, we are delighted to learn that some countries have taken this further by meeting up and setting up in-country TBA alumni associations. The formations aim at stimulating co-operation and exchange of information between the alumni and in promoting biodiversity conservation and sustainable natural resource management in the regions through collaborative research activities.
In 2007, four networks formed in Benin, Madagascar, Kenya and Rwanda. The Ugandan alumni group which formed in 2008 is the latest of the formations. Other established networks include Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria and Sudan. We encourage alumni to join these in-country networks or establish similar groups and will give advice to any wishing to do so.
